The charm of a small town, the convenience of city life. Stoney Creek offers the best of both worlds – including some of the most breathtaking natural attractions in the region.
About Stoney Creek
One of Hamilton’s amalgamated suburbs, Stoney Creek offers the feel of an independent small town, but has the amenities of a bigger city. For the outdoor enthusiast, it offers some breathtaking hiking areas. Escarpment trails offer incredible elevated views of the city and the Devil’s Punchbowl is considered one of Hamilton’s must-see natural attractions. Confederation Park, along the shores of Lake Ontario, features waterfront paths with beautiful views. This park is also home to the popular waterpark, Wild Waterworks. Not far down the shoreline is the Fifty Points Conservation Area – a beautiful 80 hectare park with a campground, picnic areas and it’s home to the Fifty Points Yacht Club. Stoney Creek was also the site of a key battle in the War of 1812; the Battle of Stoney Creek Monument is part of the community’s identity and the surrounding park hosts events to celebrate this history. The Winona Peach Festival is another well-attended community event that showcases the region’s’ continuing agricultural influence. This is a large area; neighbourhoods do give way to rural side roads and farmland.
